James "Pitbull" Bishop
Born and raised in CHCH Jimi started training in 2011 under Karl Webber, turning pro in 2014. He's competed internationally for multiple titles even competing against one of the MMA G.O.A.T’s Alex Volkanovski for the AFC Featherweight title.

He's been sponsored and competed with the Fairtex fight team in Thailand in
2019 earning an opportunity for a ONE championship contract prior to COVID shutting down the world.

Now his focus is on building the next generation of kickboxing and MMA stars in the Canterbury and Selwyn regions.

On-top of all of these accolades he's an amazing personal trainer, approachable coach and a stand up human being.

Jimi is leading our Adults and Kids kickboxing and MMA programmes at the SCSC bringing the Universal Vale Tudo team with him and we are pumped to have him and his team!!!
